The Demon King - Cinda Williams Chima It started slow, and didn't grab my attention from beginning on, but as it went on, the book gets better and better until I was hooked and just HAD to read it till the end.I really like the male antagonist and how, as the book goes on, we learn so many aspects to his person and his past. Actually Han might be the only reason why this book is so good.I didn't like how the author tries to establish characters, only to let them fade away in the middle. I didn't have any emotional connection, because there was too little of them in the book. Be it Mari, Han's mother, Bird, Dancer or Cat, I wasn't really affected by any of them. All in all, I would still recommend this book, because in the end it got addicting for me.As for now, I will start with the second book to see if Chima gets a better handle on the side characters and if she will create a love-triangle (oh god, I sure hope not).
